Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in OR scrub nursing or sterile processing experience preferred; waiver may be considered at the discretion of leadership
• Current BLS certification required
• Graduation from a Surgical Technologist training program/school preferred
• Certification as a Central Supply Technician is a plus
• Strong knowledge of medical asepsis, sterilization procedures, and instrument handling
• Ability to tolerate exposure to blood and/or body tissue
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with repetitive, detail-focused tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Clean, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments and equipment according to established hospital protocols
• Inspect instruments for leaks, damage, or defects before use
• Operate and monitor autoclaves, sonic washers, and other sterilization equipment
• Organize, stock, and maintain surgical trays, crash carts, and supply inventory
• Distribute instruments and supplies to the operating room and other appropriate areas
• Record sterilizer test results and maintain accurate documentation
• Support efficient surgical workflow by ensuring equipment is available, safe, and properly prepared
• Follow strict safety, cleanliness, and infection prevention standards at all times
• Assist with restocking, inventory control, and maintenance reporting as needed
• Perform additional duties to support the department and patient care operations
