• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts with rotating mid shifts as needed; 3x12 or 4x12 scheduling may apply based on department needs
• Shift Hours: 07:00 - 19:30 / 11:00 - 23:30
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,110
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As scheduled
• Floating: Required within the ED specialty as needed
• Charting System: Epic
• Patient Volume: Approximately 90 visits per day
• Patient Age Range: Neonates through geriatrics

Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or compact Registered Nurse license at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department / ER nursing experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Experience with patient ratios around 1:4
• Strong community hospital experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI certification required during onboarding
• Ability to work in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department
• Comfort with floating within scope and adapting to departmental needs
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccination not required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a busy, high-acuity ED environment
• Triage patients and prioritize care based on urgency and clinical presentation
• Assess, monitor, and treat patients with a wide range of emergency conditions
• Support care for medical, behavioral health, trauma-related, and pediatric presentations
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform emergency interventions as needed
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond quickly with appropriate escalation
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Epic electronic health record (EHR)
• Maintain a safe, compassionate environment for patients and families
• Work collaboratively during peak volumes, weekend coverage, and holiday schedules
