Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing or critical care nursing experience
• Level 1 trauma center experience strongly preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Education verification required
• Ability to float between ICU and Step-Down ICU as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and step-down patients in a hospital setting
• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Administer medications and treatments according to nursing standards and hospital policies
• Document patient care thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner
• Develop and carry out individualized plans of care in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on care plans, treatment goals, and discharge expectations
• Support unit performance improvement and shared governance initiatives when applicable
• Use critical thinking and clinical judgment to promote patient safety and escalate concerns appropriately
• Provide clinical expertise and support to other departments as needed
