Job Requirements

• Current California RN license required
• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring
• Experience with antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
• Comfort working in a collaborative rural birth center and family-centered care environment
• Ability to support floating or assisting as needed based on census and patient volume
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and patient-centered communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate maternal and newborn nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart patterns and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean recovery, and newborn stabilization for transport
• Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and screening exams
• Perform triage and assessment of obstetrical patients with varying acuity levels
• Assist with procedures such as cervical exams, fetal monitoring, and epidural support
• Educate and support families through labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, family-centered care
