Job Details

• Position: Travel NICU Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,340 - $2,460
• Unit Setting: Level III NICU
• Patient Population: Neonates and infants, including surgical and high-acuity cases
• Work Environment: Busy, collaborative neonatal intensive care unit with advanced support

Job Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• At least 1 year of NICU experience required
• Experience caring for Level III or comparable high-acuity neonatal patients
• Comfort working with 2-3 patient assignments and complex neonatal care needs
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with charting systems required; any major system experience accepted
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and float to pediatrics, PICU, or nursery as needed
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare setting

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill and medically complex neonatal patients in the NICU
• Monitor infants requiring respiratory support, cooling therapy, and advanced neonatal interventions
• Assist with and manage procedures such as PICC and umbilical line care, line insertions, bronchoscopy support, and other NICU-specific interventions
• Support infants with a variety of respiratory modalities, including ventilator and high-flow therapies
• Administer medications and treatments according to neonatal care plans and physician orders
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the charting system
• Maintain a safe, compassionate, family-centered approach to care in a high-acuity setting
• Float to related pediatric areas as assigned and contribute to unit flexibility and coverage
