Job Requirements

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience
• ICU experience or strong clinical skills appropriate for a long-term acute care setting
• BLS certification required before first shift
• ACLS certification may be required before first shift depending on unit expectations
• Strong communication, prioritization, and nurse leadership skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting a team-based care model

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and help develop individualized plans of care
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and care goals
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Support rehabilitation-focused care and encourage patients throughout their recovery journey
• Initiate discharge planning from day one and begin patient education in preparation for discharge
• Communicate changes in patient condition clearly to physicians and nursing leadership to support continuity of care
• Direct, train, and supervise ancillary nursing personnel using effective delegation and prioritization
• Promote a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by following all safety policies and procedures
• Contribute to a positive unit culture through calm leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving
• Assist with supply awareness, equipment needs, and efficient use of resources
• Assume charge responsibilities after orientation, as assigned
• Continue professional growth through education, self-study, and ongoing skill development
