PICU Registered Nurse - Travel Contract in Charlottesville, Virginia

Travel PICU Registered Nurse opportunity in Charlottesville, VA for an experienced pediatric critical care RN. • Shift: 12-hour rotating day and night shifts
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Weekend Requirement: Three weekends per six-week schedule
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
• Floating: May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,100

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia, or a pending license that will be in hand by the Wednesday before the start date
• Minimum 2 years of PICU or comparable pediatric critical care experience
• BLS and PALS required
• Epic experience required
• Strong pediatric cardiac experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work rotating shifts in a fast-paced pediatric ICU environment
• Must be comfortable floating within scope of practice as needed
• References required with submission

Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with cardiac and medical diagnoses
• Monitor and manage complex therapies and equipment, including ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Support care for patients with conditions such as congenital heart disease, trauma, seizure disorders, DKA, RSV, and post-operative recovery
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and other interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Deliver safe, compassionate, family-centered care in a fast-paced PICU setting
• Participate in rotating schedules, weekend coverage, and holiday assignments as required
• Float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics when needed to support patient care across the pediatric service line
