• Floating: May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Licensure: Virginia RN license may be pending at submission; must be in hand by the Wednesday before the start date

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience, preferably in PICU or pediatric critical care
• Current BLS and PALS certifications
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong experience caring for high-acuity pediatric patients
• Ability to manage complex cardiac and medical critical care cases
• Comfort with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, arterial lines, central lines, and emergency interventions
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday rotations as scheduled
• Willingness to float within scope to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents in a high-acuity PICU setting
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition using advanced pediatric assessment and critical care skills
• Care for patients with complex cardiac and medical diagnoses, including post-operative and critical care needs
• Support ventilated patients, manage central and arterial lines, and assist with emergent interventions as needed
• Administer medications, blood products, and specialized therapies according to pediatric critical care protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Document all care accurately in Epic and maintain strong communication throughout the shift
• Float within scope of practice to support NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics when needed
• Contribute to a team-focused environment that values high-quality outcomes and family-centered care
