• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours, depending on assignment needs
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
• Schedule Notes: Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays and 3 weekends per six-week schedule
• Floating: May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2, with higher acuity assignments as needed

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending Virginia RN license accepted with required timing before start
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience
• Previous PICU RN or high-acuity pediatric critical care experience preferred
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents in a high-acuity setting
• Strong clinical skills with pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and float within scope of practice
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in a high-acuity PICU
• Monitor and manage complex cardiac and medical critical care conditions
• Support care for patients with diagnoses such as congenital heart disease, respiratory illness, trauma, seizures, DKA, and post-operative surgical needs
• Care for patients requiring advanced therapies and equipment such as ECMO, VADs, and CRRT
• Administer medications, blood products, and specialty therapies safely and accurately
• Perform intensive monitoring, assess changing patient conditions, and respond quickly to clinical needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols and safety standards
• Float to NICU or Acute Care Pediatrics as needed within scope of practice
