• Position: PICU Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Setting: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Schedule: Nights; may include straight nights or rotating schedules with every other weekend
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours, with 48-hour scheduling options possible based on unit needs
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
• Orientation: Up to 24 hours
• Float Expectations: May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics within scope of practice
• Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license; pending Virginia RN license accepted if in hand before the Wednesday prior to start
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Previous PICU nursing or pediatric critical care experience strongly preferred
• BLS and PALS required
• Epic charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• Strong clinical background caring for high-acuity pediatric patients
• Ability to work night shifts and participate in weekend coverage as scheduled
• Comfort with critical care equipment and procedures commonly used in Pediatric ICU settings

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to critically ill neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
• Monitor and manage complex pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients
• Administer medications, blood products, and advanced therapies according to patient needs
• Support airway management, ventilator care, hemodynamic monitoring, and other intensive care interventions
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and support safe, efficient patient flow
• Float to NICU or Acute Care Pediatrics when needed and within scope
• Contribute to a team-focused environment committed to excellent pediatric outcomes
