Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights, typically 3 shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week, with the option to work 48 hours based on unit needs
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
• Schedule Notes: Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays and 3 weekends per 6-week schedule
• Float Requirement: May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics as needed
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Orientation: 24 hours

PICU RN Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of PICU or comparable pediatric critical care experience
• Active Registered Nurse license or pending Virginia RN license accepted, with license in hand by the Wednesday before start date
• BLS and PALS required
• Strong experience caring for high-acuity pediatric and cardiac patients
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday coverage as scheduled
• Ability to float within scope of practice
• BSN preferred
• Experience with pediatric cardiac care is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and highly skilled care to pediatric critical care patients in a PICU setting
• Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac and medical diagnoses in a fast-paced pediatric ICU environment
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver exceptional patient care
• Care for patients requiring advanced therapies and monitoring, including ventilator support, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Respond confidently to changing patient conditions and prioritize care for high-acuity assignments
• Support families through clear communication, clinical expertise, and patient-centered care
• Float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics when needed, within scope of practice
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow all unit workflows and compliance expectations
