• Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week based on unit needs
• Schedule Notes: Weekend coverage required; may float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics as needed
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting System: Epic experience required

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending state license accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before the start date
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatric critical care or pediatric intensive care
• BLS and PALS required
• Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience required
• Strong experience with high-acuity pediatric patients; pediatric cardiac experience is a plus
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Must be comfortable floating within scope of practice

Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside care for critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in a busy Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
• Monitor and manage complex pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients
• Support advanced therapies and technologies, including ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, CRRT, ECMO, and VADs as indicated
• Perform thorough assessments, interpret patient trends, and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Administer medications, blood products, and ordered therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, social services, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain strong infection control practices and uphold unit protocols
• Float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics when needed while working within scope of practice
