Emergency Department Coder – Remote Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

Job Details

• Employment Type: Remote / Work from Home
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Assignment Length: 26 weeks with a strong possibility for ongoing work
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,122 - $1,247
• Setting: Emergency Department coding / medical coding
• Productivity Expectation: Approximately 9 charts per hour
• Work Location: Remote

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in Emergency Department coding or a similar acute care coding environment
• Experience working in EPIC and 3M
• Knowledge of injections and infusions coding
• Experience with Level 1 trauma and teaching facility documentation preferred
• Strong understanding of procedure and diagnosis coding
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards
• Must be able to complete required testing during the hiring process

Responsibilities

• Code emergency department charts for both procedure and diagnosis information
• Review clinical documentation for completeness, accuracy, and coding compliance
• Use EPIC and 3M tools to support efficient and accurate code assignment
• Apply coding knowledge for injections, infusions, and emergency department services
• Maintain a steady workflow and meet daily productivity expectations
• Support ongoing quality and consistency in chart review and coding decisions
