• Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 12 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Location: Akron, OH 44308
• Setting: High-acuity pediatric critical care unit with opportunities to care for a broad range of complex patients
• Float Requirement: Travelers may float to other competent acute care inpatient units, including NICU when accompanied

Job Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or Compact license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent registered nurse experience required
• BSN required for consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience caring for ventilated patients strongly preferred
• Strong infection control, PPE, and patient safety practices
• Ability to support pediatric critical care patients and adapt to float assignments as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Monitor patients closely and respond to changes in condition with clinical judgment and urgency
• Support complex care needs, including ECMO, CRRT, post-op cardiac, and neurosurgical patients
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, family-centered care
• Care for patients across a range of ages, including pediatrics, adolescents, and select adult populations as assigned
• Document accurately in the electronic health record and follow unit workflows
• Assist with specialized equipment and advanced therapies used in a high-acuity critical care environment
• Float to designated acute care units when needed and remain flexible to unit needs
