• Unit Highlights: 32-bed stepdown unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Schedule Notes: Includes weekend coverage with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Job Requirements

• 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
• Active RN license; compact license accepted
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Experience with EPIC preferred
• Previous travel nurse experience preferred
• Must be comfortable providing tracheostomy care
• Must meet local radius requirements
• Completion of pre-start assessments and exams required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care for medicine patients requiring stepdown-level monitoring
• Manage central lines, respiratory support needs, and tracheostomy patients
• Perform IV starts, peripheral lab draws, and arterial blood draws
• Administer and monitor IV drips, including cardiac, insulin, and heparin infusions
• Closely observe patients and respond to changing clinical conditions
• Collaborate with nursing assistants, providers, and the interdisciplinary medical team to support patient care goals
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support safe, efficient unit workflow
• Contribute to a team-based environment focused on patient-centered care
