• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,870 - $1,970
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend coverage
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Unit Setting: Inpatient behavioral health float pool
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Charting System: Epic
• Schedule Style: Self-scheduling

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience
• Behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or mental health nursing experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• CPI certification required
• Aegis experience or certification preferred
• Experience using Epic required
• Comfort working with patients experiencing schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, dementia with behavioral disturbance, and psychotic disorders
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient de-escalation skills
• Ability to work in a float pool across units with varying acuity levels

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric nursing care in an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Support safe and therapeutic care for patients with a range of behavioral health diagnoses and acute mental health needs
• Use trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment
• Administer medications and monitor patient response to treatment
• Perform ongoing assessments, documentation, and care coordination in Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including therapy, social services, pharmacy, radiology, and respiratory services
• Assist with restraint and seclusion procedures in accordance with policy and safety standards
• Float to assigned inpatient psychiatric units based on patient need and acuity
• Promote dignity, safety, and therapeutic engagement for every patient interaction
