• Call Requirement: On-call participation required
• Float Requirement: True-float assignment across three emergency department campuses; assignments may vary by shift, with advance reporting instructions provided
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

Travel ER RN Qualifications

• At least 3 years of recent emergency department registered nursing experience
• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Strong adaptability and willingness to float between emergency department locations
• Demonstrated ability to care for patients across the lifespan in a high-acuity emergency setting

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide direct emergency nursing care using assessment, planning, implementation, and continual reassessment.
• Prioritize and triage patients presenting with medical, surgical, trauma, behavioral health, and critical care needs.
• Manage patients requiring emergency medications, procedural sedation monitoring, ventilatory support, IV vasopressors, continuous sedation, and other high-acuity interventions.
• Perform or assist with emergency procedures and clinical skills, including IV initiation, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG acquisition, central line care, chest tube management, blood product administration, and arterial line management.
• Recognize and respond to strokes, STEMIs, seizures, respiratory emergencies, overdoses, burns, multisystem organ dysfunction, traumatic injuries, and other time-sensitive conditions.
• Support care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, including individuals requiring behavioral health precautions or psychiatric holds.
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, clinical quality, and effective interdisciplinary communication.
• Advocate for patients and families while coordinating care across emergency department teams and rotating clinical settings.
• Adapt quickly to changing assignments and maintain consistent standards of care while floating between campuses.
