Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Location: Yakima, Washington
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit – Telemetry/Oncology
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, from October 19, 2026 through January 16, 2027
• Weekend Rotation: At least two weekend nights per month; weekend nights are Friday and Saturday
• Call: None
• Documentation: Epic
• Floating: Within scope of practice and to other appropriate units throughout the hospital
• Scrub Color: Any color

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, including PCU or progressive care nursing experience
• First-time travel nurses may be considered with at least 2 years of total nursing experience, including 1 year of PCU experience
• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to read, interpret, and measure cardiac rhythms
• Experience caring for patients receiving BiPAP and high-flow oxygen
• Comfort caring for cardiac patients and managing titratable drips, including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical judgment skills
• Compassionate approach to caring for diverse and underserved patient populations; Spanish-language skills are welcomed

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to progressive care, telemetry, medical, cardiac, and oncology patients
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, NSTEMI, chest pain, sepsis, stroke, acute kidney injury, dialysis needs, pulmonary edema, hypoxia, and shock
• Care for patients before and after cardiac catheterization, including TR band management, stent placement recovery, and frequent post-procedure assessments
• Perform required checks for fresh catheterization patients, including frequent site and circulation assessments
• Maintain central lines and provide tracheostomy care
• Manage chest tubes and provide post-procedure nursing care
• Administer and titrate ordered cardiac, anticoagulant, and diuretic infusions according to protocol
• Recognize changes in cardiac rhythm and patient condition, escalating concerns promptly
• Provide supportive care for patients with oncology diagnoses, including leukemia and neutropenia, within the scope of the assignment
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes
