• Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Nursing Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Weekly Hours: 48 guaranteed hours per week, approximately four 12-hour shifts
• Weekends and Holidays: Rotating weekends and holiday participation as scheduled
• Unit Profile: 22-bed orthopedic/telemetry unit with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Scrubs: Royal blue

Orthopedic Travel Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure in West Virginia
• At least 1 year of registered nursing experience
• Strong orthopedic nursing experience required
• Demonstrated experience caring for total joint replacement patients; fracture-only experience is not sufficient
• Experience in an acute-care, orthopedic, or medical-surgical environment preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work night shifts, rotating weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Adaptability to occasional floating within related medical-surgical units

Orthopedic Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic and medical-surgical patients, including joint replacement and fracture patients
• Assess patient conditions, develop individualized nursing care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patients for changes in condition
• Support postoperative recovery, mobility, pain management, and prevention of complications
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing assistants, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Follow unit safety, infection prevention, and quality standards
• Provide patient and family education related to treatment plans, orthopedic recovery, and discharge needs
