Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Camden, New Jersey, near Philadelphia
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Assignment Dates: October 26, 2026 – January 25, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a mix of medical-surgical and progressive care patients
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Typical Patient Ratio: 1:3–4 on nights
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Electronic Medical Record: Electronic charting experience required; Epic experience preferred
• Floating: May be required among designated regional facilities within the RN’s skill set based on staffing needs

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or a valid Compact RN license
• At least 2 years of recent PCU, progressive care, stepdown, or closely related acute-care nursing experience, including experience within the past 12 months
• Recent neuro nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and ASLS certifications required
• Electronic medical record charting experience required; Epic experience preferred
• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Ability to successfully complete a dysrhythmia assessment during orientation, with two attempts permitted
• Willingness to complete required pre-employment labs, orientation modules, and fit-testing requirements within designated time frames
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred; qualified first-time travel nurses may be considered

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for patients requiring progressive monitoring, assessment, and intervention
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognize clinical deterioration, and promptly escalate changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with strokes, transient ischemic attacks, seizures, intracranial bleeds, altered mental status, encephalopathy, and spinal or neurosurgical conditions
• Manage patients with respiratory conditions including COPD, asthma, pneumonia, pleural effusions, and non-invasive airway support needs
• Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization, myocardial infarction, cardiac surgery, and other cardiovascular conditions
• Administer medications and manage non-titrated cardiac drips, insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood products, and pain-control therapies according to policy
• Perform or assist with care involving central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, drains, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, continuous bladder irrigation, and wound care
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, radiology, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans in the electronic medical record
• Float to other regional units within the RN’s competency when needed to support continuity of patient care
