Travel MRI Technologist Job Details

• Healthcare Setting: MRI department serving outpatient, emergency, and inpatient populations
• Equipment and Systems: GE 450W MRI and Epic EMR
• Float Requirement: Minimal

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as an MRI Technologist or MRI Tech
• Current ARRT or ARMIT certification
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of MRI safety protocols and screening procedures
• Experience operating GE MRI equipment
• Experience documenting in Epic or a comparable electronic medical record system
• Ability to participate in a rotating call schedule
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to safe, compassionate patient care

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations for outpatient, emergency, and inpatient patients
• Screen patients for MRI safety, contraindications, implants, and relevant medical history
• Operate GE MRI equipment while following established imaging, safety, and quality protocols
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain examinations, and promote comfort throughout the medical imaging process
• Review MRI images for quality and completeness and communicate concerns to the appropriate clinical team
• Accurately document examinations and patient information in Epic
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe MRI environment
• Support rotating call coverage and collaborate effectively with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team
• Apply knowledge of specialized imaging, including breast MRI and pacemaker scanning, when applicable
