Social Worker Manager Job Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressive healthcare or nursing experience, including substantial patient care experience
• At least 4 years of supervisory, management, or clinical leadership experience
• Current California RN license required for this healthcare management role
• CPR certification required
• BSN or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field strongly preferred
• Master's degree preferred
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program preferred
• Working knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act, accreditation standards, and applicable federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead healthcare teams, manage resources, and support continuous quality improvement

Healthcare Leadership Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of 24-hour departments providing patient care services, which may include multiple locations
• Lead staff in delivering safe, accessible, cost-effective, and patient-focused services
• Establish, implement, and maintain clinical standards of care, service expectations, policies, and procedures
• Monitor compliance with professional practice standards, accreditation requirements, and applicable laws and regulations
• Design and evaluate processes that improve care delivery, service outcomes, and operational efficiency
• Develop and monitor departmental budgets while promoting the effective use of staffing and material resources
• Determine appropriate staffing needs and support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and competency development
• Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, performance guidance, and professional development for department staff
• Oversee quality improvement, risk management, patient safety, and service initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve quality while managing costs and departmental performance
• Address employee relations, operational concerns, and department safety issues in a timely and professional manner
• Protect privacy and confidentiality while promoting ethical conduct and adherence to organizational policies
