Travel MRI Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260–$2,430
• Assignment Type: Travel healthcare assignment
• Location: Hilo, Hawaii 96720
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• End Date: February 8, 2027
• Duration: 15 weeks
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week, routinely Friday through Monday
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Call Requirements: At least one on-call shift per week; schedules may vary based on staffing and operational needs
• Work Setting: On-site hospital MRI department

Candidates must be available to arrive on the Thursday before the assignment start date for required pre-assignment health screening and onboarding.

MRI Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience independently performing clinical diagnostic MRI procedures
• Successful completion of an accredited MRI program with a certificate or associate degree, or equivalent education through an advanced MRI registry pathway
• Current ARRT certification with an advanced qualification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) or current ARMRIT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
• Ability to perform MRI examinations according to physician orders, department protocols, quality standards, and MRI safety procedures
• Experience with GE MRI systems preferred
• EPIC experience preferred
• Hawaii licensure in a radiologic imaging modality highly desired; no specific state license is required for this position
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating schedules, standby coverage, and call-back assignments as needed

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Independently perform diagnostic MRI examinations using standard and modified imaging techniques
• Review physician orders, apply appropriate MRI protocols, and obtain high-quality diagnostic images
• Screen patients for MRI safety risks, contraindications, and procedure readiness
• Provide clear instructions and compassionate patient care throughout the imaging process
• Operate and maintain MRI equipment in accordance with department, equipment, and safety standards
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team
• Accurately document examinations and patient information in the electronic medical record
• Respond to on-call, standby, holiday, and callback needs as assigned
• Maintain compliance with quality assurance, infection prevention, and MRI safety requirements
