Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine or a valid compact RN license
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• At least 1 year of registered nursing experience; endoscopy or procedural nursing experience preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• IV certification
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and multitasking skills
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in accordance with applicable nursing standards and healthcare policies

Endoscopy Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after endoscopy procedures
• Assess patient conditions, monitor responses to care, and promptly communicate changes to the healthcare team
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies within scope of practice
• Assist with endoscopy procedure preparation, patient recovery, and education
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established patient-safety and infection-control practices
• Collaborate effectively with gastroenterology providers, nurses, technicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team
• Prioritize multiple patient-care responsibilities while maintaining a calm and supportive procedural environment
