PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 1 year of recent acute-care, progressive care, or cardiac telemetry nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association preferred
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience required
• Demonstrated ability to safely titrate vasopressors
• Level I trauma experience preferred and required for applicants without previous travel nursing experience
• Ability to successfully complete required day-one competency testing
• Flexibility to float in four-hour blocks to support ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units when needed

Progressive Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac telemetry and progressive care patients with varying levels of acuity
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, neurological status, and other indicators of clinical change
• Administer medications and therapies safely, including titration of vasopressors according to established protocols
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate promptly with providers and the interdisciplinary care team
• Manage patient assignments with typical ratios of 1:3–5 while maintaining safe, compassionate, evidence-based care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with patients and families to support education, recovery, and discharge planning
• Float to designated areas in four-hour blocks as needed to support patient flow and continuity of care
