Experienced Registered Nurses with 3+ years of medical-surgical telemetry experience can join a Boston, Massachusetts, travel nursing contract supporting a dynamic inpatient float pool. Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
• Location: Boston, Massachusetts
• Start Date: February 1, 2027
• Assignment Length: 8 weeks
• Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week; 72 hours guaranteed biweekly, excluding on-call time
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts, with a combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Rotating days, evenings, and nights; every other weekend and holidays required
• Call: No call required
• Float Assignment: Medical-surgical telemetry float pool supporting approximately 15 inpatient units
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Orientation: Weekly orientation, typically on Mondays

Travel Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at the time of submission
• At least 3 years of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Current BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Recent Epic electronic health record experience required
• Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate web-based applications
• Strong telemetry, cardiac, and acute-care assessment skills
• Experience in a teaching hospital and expertise in a specialty area preferred
• Flexibility to float between units and adapt to changing assignments

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients across multiple inpatient units
• Complete comprehensive assessments, care planning, medication administration, documentation, and patient education
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and manage unit-specific therapies, including Lasix infusions and blood transfusions
• Administer nebulizer treatments as ordered and collaborate with respiratory therapy regarding ventilator support
• Care for patients with neurological, cardiac, bariatric, medical-surgical, oncology, transplant, orthopedic, gynecologic, genitourinary, and vascular needs
• Float to assigned units based on staffing and patient-care needs, sometimes receiving an assignment shortly before the shift
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, support staff, patients, and families
• Maintain current knowledge of telemetry practices, acute-care protocols, and patient safety standards
