Neurology Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements

• At least three years of professional neurology experience
• Demonstrated experience providing inpatient or hospital-based neurology consultations
• Current Nurse Practitioner license eligible for practice in Connecticut; compact license holders may be considered
• Board certification required
• Active DEA registration required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to commit to the full six-month locum tenens opportunity
• Professional references from physicians familiar with your clinical practice
• Applicants must meet applicable credentialing and background-screening requirements

Neurology Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage adult patients referred for neurological consultation
• Provide inpatient and hospital-based care for new and established neurology consults
• Perform comprehensive neurological histories, examinations, and assessments
• Develop diagnostic and treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other advanced practice providers
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in Epic
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary hospital teams and communicate clinical recommendations clearly
• Support the neurology service during scheduled weekday coverage and possible weekend needs
