Neurology Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience as a Nurse Practitioner in neurology
• Previous inpatient or hospital-based neurology consultation experience
• Board certification required
• Current Connecticut Nurse Practitioner license required; compact-eligible providers may be considered for licensing
• Active DEA registration required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Commitment to the full approximately 6-month locum tenens opportunity
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

Neurology Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage adult patients referred for neurological consultation
• Perform comprehensive neurological histories and examinations
• Develop and implement evidence-based diagnostic and treatment plans
• Provide follow-up care for established patients and coordinate transitions of care
• Collaborate with neurologists, physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Document patient encounters, assessments, and treatment plans accurately in Epic
• Support the hospital-based neurology consult service and participate in weekend coverage as needed
