• Unit Profile: 22-bed Progressive Care Unit with approximately a 4:1 patient ratio
• Clinical Environment: Adult cardiac and progressive care population with telemetry monitoring
• Additional Expectations: Flexibility to float as needed

PCU Travel Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 2 years of recent Progressive Care, step-down, cardiac, or ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated ability to care for adult cardiac patients and patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach
• Adaptability to changing patient needs, unit assignments, and floating expectations

Progressive Care Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Progressive Care and cardiac setting
• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythm or patient condition
• Care for cardiac observation, post-cardiac catheterization, and post-cardioversion patients
• Complete thorough patient assessments, administer medications, and implement individualized plans of care
• Recognize and promptly escalate clinical deterioration or changes in patient status
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Float to other appropriate units when needed while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
