Join a fast-paced Emergency Department as a travel Registered Nurse (RN) in Tucson, Arizona. Provide high-quality care to adult and pediatric emergency patients while using critical thinking, sound clinical judgment, and leadership to support safe patient outcomes. This on-site travel nursing opportunity is based in a 38-bed, Level III Trauma Center that also serves as a stroke and STEMI receiving center.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680–$1,770
• Location: Tucson, Arizona, a vibrant Sonoran Desert community known for beautiful mountain scenery, outdoor recreation, rich cultural heritage, and year-round sunshine
• Position: Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)
• Department: Emergency Department
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; 3 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• End Date: January 11, 2027
• Healthcare Setting: On-site, 38-bed Emergency Department; Level III Trauma, Stroke Receiving, and STEMI Receiving
• Documentation System: Cerner experience preferred

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Strong emergency nursing assessment, prioritization, triage, and stabilization skills
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to float as needed within the practice setting
• NIH certification recommended but not required
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency care environment

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Use the nursing process, critical thinking, and sound clinical judgment to assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
• Anticipate changes in patient condition and respond promptly to emergent situations
• Deliver emergency nursing care in accordance with the Arizona Nurse Practice Act and applicable clinical policies and procedures
• Prioritize and delegate patient care assignments based on staff education, competency, and experience
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, efficient patient flow and quality outcomes
• Support emergency care for trauma, stroke, cardiac, STEMI, and other high-acuity presentations
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and ongoing professional development
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
