Travel RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: February 1, 2027
• Schedule: 3 night shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Department Overview: Approximately 50–70 daily patients, 11 beds, and a patient ratio of about 1:4

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 5 years of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Level II Trauma experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications from AHA or ARC
• Recent experience using Epic electronic health records (EHR)
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced emergency care setting
• Ability to care for neonates, infants, pediatric patients, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, reassessments, and prioritization of emergency care
• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for patients with emergent and complex conditions
• Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation as indicated
• Monitor and care for ventilated patients, including BiPAP and CPAP management
• Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Provide central line care and management while maintaining isolation precautions and PPE standards
• Collaborate with respiratory services, radiology, phlebotomy, social services, interpretation services, physical therapy, and other members of the care team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic
• Support quality patient outcomes through clear communication, teamwork, and compassionate care
