Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570–$1,650
• Assignment Dates: October 12, 2026 – January 11, 2027
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Healthcare Setting: 34-bed Cardiac Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit
• Nursing Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Scheduling: Four weekend shifts required during each four-week period, with holiday rotation
• Unit Resources: Dedicated telemetry monitoring, patient care technicians, charge nurse support when census allows, and Epic documentation
• Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs

Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in a cardiac stepdown, progressive care, intermediate care, or comparable acute-care setting
• Current Registered Nurse license valid for practice in Utah
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated ability to interpret telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythm
• Experience managing cardiac, neurological, and progressive care patients
• Competency with vasoactive infusions within PCU/IMC scope of practice
• Experience caring for patients with chest tubes, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Ability to participate in rapid response events and care for post-cardiac procedure patients
• Strong time-management, communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
• Willingness to float within demonstrated competency

Cardiac Stepdown Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac, neurological, and progressive care patients
• Continuously monitor patients using telemetry and promptly identify and communicate clinical changes
• Manage vasoactive drips, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, CPAP, PCA pumps, and IV infusion therapies within scope
• Care for patients following cardiac procedures, including TEE and cardioversion
• Participate in rapid response activities and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Complete accurate assessments, medication administration, care planning, and documentation in Epic
• Deliver bedside shift reports, perform hourly rounding, and promote patient-centered care standards
• Maintain a safe, organized environment while supporting quality outcomes for a typical 4:1 patient assignment
• Float to appropriate areas when needed and provide care consistent with current competencies
