Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,190–$2,310
• Location: Castro Valley, California
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Hours: 7:30 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend, including two weekend shifts per pay period
• Holiday Coverage: Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Typical Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Orientation: 56 hours
• Charting System: Epic

Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in medical-surgical and telemetry settings
• Active California Registered Nurse license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA or ARC
• Recent electronic documentation experience; Epic experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Ability to float safely to multiple Med/Surg and telemetry units within scope of practice
• Strong telemetry assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and time-management skills

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients across Med/Surg and telemetry units
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Manage patients with complex medical and surgical conditions, including CVA, renal failure, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Administer medications, blood products, insulin protocols, oxygen therapy, and other treatments according to orders and policy
• Provide care for central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, surgical drains, wound vacs, and peripheral IVs
• Support patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and other non-invasive airway management
• Perform nursing assessments, medication reconciliation, patient education, care planning, and accurate documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Respond effectively to changes in condition and participate in rapid response and code team activities
