Travel Registered Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,190–$2,310
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Nursing Shift: Days, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Every other weekend; approximately 2 weekend shifts per pay period
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 5 patients per nurse
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-surgical and telemetry float pool
• Orientation: 56 hours

Travel RN Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience, preferably in medical-surgical telemetry
• Current California Registered Nurse license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA or ARC
• Recent Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Experience caring for telemetry and medical-surgical patients in a community hospital environment preferred
• Ability to float to multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units within scope of practice
• Availability for weekend and holiday coverage

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Manage patients requiring oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive airway support, and tracheostomy care
• Administer medications, insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood products, and patient-controlled analgesia according to policy
• Provide care for patients with neurological, orthopedic, renal, respiratory, cardiovascular, and surgical conditions
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, surgical drains, feeding tubes, wound care, and wound vacs
• Perform comprehensive assessments, documentation, patient education, and care coordination using Epic
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Participate in rapid response and code team processes when indicated
