Travel Nursing Job Details

Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or ARC
• Current NIHSS certification
• Recent telemetry experience, including cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with Epic or a comparable electronic health record system
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Ability to float across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units within scope of practice
• Strong patient assessment, clinical prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
• Float to multiple inpatient units and adapt quickly to changing patient populations, workflows, and care needs.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Manage patients with complex conditions, including cerebrovascular accident (CVA), renal failure, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic trauma, and post-surgical conditions.
• Administer medications, initiate IVs, provide peripheral and central line care, manage PICC lines, administer blood products, and follow insulin protocols.
• Provide care for patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, surgical drains, wounds, wound vacs, oxygen therapy needs, and non-invasive airway support.
• Support rapid response and code teams while collaborating with respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans in Epic.
