Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, including approximately two weekend shifts per pay period

Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in medical-surgical and telemetry settings
• Valid California Registered Nurse license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA or ARC
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Ability to float across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units within scope of practice
• Strong telemetry assessment, dysrhythmia interpretation, and clinical prioritization skills
• Community hospital experience preferred

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across medical-surgical and telemetry units
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Manage patients with complex medical conditions, including CVA, renal failure, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and orthopedic trauma
• Provide care involving chest tubes, central lines, PICC lines, feeding tubes, surgical drains, tracheostomies, wound vacuums, and peripheral IVs
• Administer blood products, manage heparin and insulin protocols, and provide pre- and post-dialysis care
• Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and other non-invasive airway management
• Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rehabilitation, social services, and other members of the care team
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in Epic
• Participate in code response, patient education, discharge planning, and safe transitions of care
