Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Crescent City, California
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,170–$2,290 per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: February 1, 2027
• Shift: Night shifts, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Department: Emergency Department
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Typical Assignment: Approximately 4 patients per nurse
• Department Profile: 12 emergency rooms, 11 beds, and an average daily census of 50–70 patients
• Charting System: Epic

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 5 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications from AHA or ARC
• Demonstrated experience with Epic or a comparable electronic health record system
• Ability to provide emergency care for patients across the lifespan
• Strong assessment, prioritization, communication, and emergency response skills

Travel ER RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely, and compassionate emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Perform triage, focused assessments, reassessments, and ongoing monitoring based on patient acuity.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including dysrhythmias and other emergent presentations.
• Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation according to established protocols.
• Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, mechanical ventilation, central lines, and isolation precautions.
• Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac rhythms to support rapid clinical decision-making.
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary support services, including respiratory therapy, radiology, phlebotomy, social services, interpretation services, and physical therapy.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans in Epic.
• Maintain a calm, organized, and patient-centered environment during high-volume emergency department shifts.
