Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of combined permanent experience in Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong telemetry monitoring and ECG rhythm-recognition skills
• Successful completion of required medication-safety and rhythm-recognition assessments during orientation
• One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty, from an assignment completed within the past 12 months
• Ability to complete required background screening, health documentation, and applicable vaccination requirements; medical and religious exemptions may be considered where permitted

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Perform nursing assessments, administer medications, and evaluate patient responses to treatment
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and support continuity of care through effective handoffs
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Prioritize care effectively while maintaining patient safety and adherence to clinical standards
