Occupational Therapist Job Requirements

• Current Occupational Therapist credentials and authorization to practice in Missouri
• At least 2 years of professional occupational therapy experience
• Inpatient rehabilitation or skilled nursing facility experience required
• Experience treating patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and debility-related diagnoses
• Strong communication, teamwork, work ethic, and accountability
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment

Occupational Therapy Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy plans of care
• Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve functional ability, mobility, coordination, and independence with activities of daily living
• Treat patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, cardiac conditions, and other disabling diagnoses
• Use rehabilitation equipment and technology, including upper-extremity robotics and body-weight support systems, as appropriate
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, safety strategies, and continued progress toward functional goals
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, and discharge recommendations accurately and promptly
• Contribute to a positive, respectful rehabilitation environment focused on patient recovery and quality of life
