Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Seward, Alaska
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,050–$2,160
• Assignment Start: October 27, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour shifts; day or night assignment based on staffing needs. Day shifts are approximately 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; night shifts are approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:20
• Call: Not required
• Charting: Electronic charting system; experience with electronic nursing documentation required
• Floating: May be required within scope of practice to support nearby affiliated locations
• Holiday Availability: Must be willing to work at least two of the three major winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
• Transportation: Shuttle transportation support is available for travel to and from Anchorage at the beginning and end of the assignment, along with local shuttle access in Seward

Long-Term Care RN Job Requirements

• Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand, or applicable compact license in hand at submission
• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience, including recent long-term care or skilled nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience caring for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, traumatic brain injury, cognitive impairments, physical impairments, and other long-term care needs
• Strong electronic documentation, clinical assessment, and healthcare communication skills
• Ability to provide oxygen administration, peripheral line care, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Two professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the past 3 years
• Ability to complete Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel nursing assignment

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and individualized nursing care to long-term care residents
• Complete nursing assessments, monitor changes in condition, and communicate clinical findings to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments according to established standards, provider orders, and individualized care plans
• Provide and monitor PEG tube feedings, IV hydration as needed, respiratory treatments, and glucose management
• Perform wound care, phlebotomy and laboratory draws, vital sign monitoring, and related nursing interventions
• Assist with care involving implanted glucose sensors, Duopa pumps, pacemaker transmitters, lifts, and other specialized medical equipment
• Support residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, neurological conditions, cognitive impairments, and physical disabilities
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and follow infection prevention, isolation, and patient safety protocols
• Collaborate with residents, families, providers, nursing assistants, and other members of the long-term care team
• Float within the Registered Nurse's scope of practice when needed to meet resident care and staffing requirements
