Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,690–$2,830
• Location: Harvey, Illinois, near Chicago
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Schedule: Days, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; five 8-hour shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 8 hours
• Call Requirement: Approximately 2 call shifts per week and 1–2 weekend call assignments per month
• Patient Population: Adults
• Unit Overview: Two-room cardiac catheterization lab with an average daily census of approximately six patients
• Orientation: 40 hours

Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab, CVOR, or comparable procedural nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, in hand and in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• ARRT(R) certification, as required for the position
• Recent experience with adult diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Epic electronic medical record (EMR) charting experience required
• Strong understanding of sterile technique, hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Ability to participate in scheduled call coverage and weekend rotation

CVOR and Cardiac Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for adult patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures
• Serve as a scrub nurse, circulating nurse, or procedural team member while maintaining a sterile field
• Support diagnostic catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), left- and right-heart catheterizations, electrophysiology procedures, ablations, and device implantations
• Monitor hemodynamics, recognize life-threatening arrhythmias, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Assist with procedures involving pacemakers, AICDs, temporary pacing, IABP support, vascular closure systems, and pericardiocentesis
• Prepare access sites, perform EKG lead placement, verify equipment readiness, and maintain accurate documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, IV teams, and rapid response personnel
• Maintain procedural supplies, equipment, and inventory while supporting a safe and efficient cardiac services workflow
