Emergency Room Travel Nurse Job Details

• Specialty: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Location: Easton, Maryland
• Start Date: October 19, 2026, or as soon as possible
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000–$2,110
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; three 12-hour shifts
• Shift: Rotating day and mid shifts, primarily days; 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 11:00 a.m.–11:30 p.m.
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient Assignment: Typically 1:4, with up to five patients when acuity is lower
• Department Volume: Approximately 90 visits per day with 36 beds and 32 rooms
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Holiday Coverage: Required as scheduled
• Floating: Required within the emergency department specialty and to affiliated emergency departments as needed
• Call: No prescheduled on-call shifts required
• Charting: Epic

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent emergency department nursing experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Experience caring for combined adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Experience with Epic electronic health record charting required
• Community hospital experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications; AHA certification is required for BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Strong assessment, prioritization, triage, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to float within scope of practice and work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
• First-time travelers may be considered with strong emergency nursing experience and skill proficiency

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely, and compassionate emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Perform triage, focused assessments, reassessments, and ongoing monitoring based on patient acuity
• Recognize and respond to emergent conditions, including STEMI, stroke, respiratory compromise, sepsis, seizures, overdose, psychiatric crisis, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Administer emergency medications, blood products, IV therapies, procedural sedation, and continuous infusions according to orders and policy
• Manage patients requiring ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP, intubation assistance, chest tubes, central lines, and IV vasopressors
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs, identify dysrhythmias, and promptly escalate changes in patient condition
• Provide care for pediatric and adult patients with medical, surgical, behavioral health, traumatic, and complex multisystem conditions
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary partners, including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services
• Document assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and patient education accurately in Epic
• Support a safe environment through infection-prevention practices, de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention, and appropriate management of violent or suicidal patients
• Participate in charge responsibilities and help coordinate patient flow, prioritization, and team communication as assigned
