Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730–$1,820

• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 6:45 p.m.–7:15 a.m., including a 30-minute meal break
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Requirement: None
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:6, based on unit needs
• Float Assignment: Assignments are determined by the nursing supervisor according to staffing needs
• First-Time Travelers: Considered
• Scrubs: Royal blue

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in a comparable-acuity hospital setting
• Active, unencumbered Tennessee RN license or compact/multistate RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Prior Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) experience is required
• Ability to float confidently across a variety of adult acute-care units and patient populations
• Two professional references required; references may be pending at submission
• Current flu vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions may be considered

Acute Care Float RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to adult acute-care patients
• Adapt quickly to assignments across medical-surgical and specialty units based on staffing and patient-care needs
• Potentially support medical comfort care, surgery and gastrointestinal care, trauma, medical, observation, oncology, medical nephrology, orthopedics, joint replacement, neurology, vascular, pulmonary, cardiac surgery, and cardiac units
• Complete patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, interventions, and reassessments within established standards
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate appropriately with providers and the interdisciplinary care team
• Accurately document care, assessments, and outcomes in the Cerner electronic medical record
• Promote teamwork, patient safety, infection prevention, and a positive patient experience during each assignment
