Travel CT Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,380–$2,550
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based medical imaging and CT department
• Location: Huntley, Illinois, in the greater Chicago metropolitan area
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Assignment End Date: January 18, 2027
• Contract Duration: 12 weeks
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour day shifts
• Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Weekend coverage required
• Call: Not required
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Work Environment: On-site

CT Technologist Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a CT Technologist, CT Tech, or Computed Tomography Technologist
• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
• ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT)
• Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) accreditation
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Active Illinois license or required state authorization in hand before the assignment begins
• Experience with Epic or another electronic medical record system; Epic experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety, contrast preparation and administration, venipuncture, and peripheral IV placement
• Ability to follow isolation precautions and maintain a safe, compassionate patient-care environment

CT Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic CT examinations in accordance with established protocols and radiation safety standards
• Provide attentive care to patients ranging from neonates and infants to adults and older adults
• Complete CT studies of the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, musculoskeletal system, vascular structures, and other assigned areas
• Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and promote comfort and cooperation
• Prepare and administer contrast media safely while monitoring patients for adverse reactions
• Start peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture as needed for diagnostic imaging studies
• Support emergency, trauma, ICU, outpatient, and acute-care imaging needs
• Produce high-quality images using multiplanar reconstruction, 3D rendering, maximum intensity projection, surface-shaded display, and volume-rendering techniques
• Operate Siemens CT equipment and complete required quality-control and documentation processes
• Accurately document examinations and patient information in Epic while maintaining confidentiality
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, physicians, IV teams, and other members of the healthcare team
• Maintain compliance with radiation protection, infection prevention, and department safety procedures
