• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Shift: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Emergency Department Highlights: Approximately 30 private emergency rooms, a six-bed observation unit, six fast-track beds, a seclusion room, and five additional monitored rooms
• Patient Volume: Approximately 100 patients per day
• Patient Population: Trauma, cardiac, neurological, and other emergency presentations
• Typical Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3 or 1:4
• Documentation and Medication Systems: Allscripts Sunrise and Omnicell

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Arizona
• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in an emergency department
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current NIHSS certification
• Current TNCC certification
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate emergency nursing care in a fast-paced acute-care environment

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, reassessments, and prioritization for patients with varying levels of acuity
• Provide emergency nursing care for trauma, cardiac, neurological, and medical patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions and escalation of care
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and other members of the emergency care team
• Support emergency procedures, patient stabilization, observation, and patient flow throughout the department
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Allscripts Sunrise
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
