Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Jobs – Acute Care Hospital Contract in Boise, Idaho

Experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists can join an adult-focused acute-care hospital team in Boise, Idaho, for a 13-week travel assignment with strong clinical support, competitive weekly pay, and varied inpatient responsibilities. Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770–$1,900
  • Assignment Type: 13-week travel respiratory therapy contract
  • Location: Boise, Idaho, with potential coverage in Meridian or Nampa
  • Start Date: October 26, 2026
  • End Date: January 25, 2027
  • Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
  • Schedule: Every other weekend; holiday coverage is required when applicable
  • Call: No call or standby requirement
  • Orientation: Approximately 2–3 department-specific shifts
  • Charting: EPIC
  • Float: First-to-float assignment; may include designated inpatient areas and nearby locations in Meridian or Nampa

Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

  • Current respiratory therapist license or eligibility to practice in Idaho
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) candidates may be considered with 3–5 years of experience
  • RRT candidates should have at least 2–3 years of recent respiratory therapy experience in an acute-care hospital
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification may be required for approved pediatric or NICU coverage
  • Experience providing adult inpatient respiratory care, including ventilator management, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen systems, airway management, and arterial blood gases
  • Ability to assist with intubation; independent intubation is not required for this assignment
  • Comfort working every other weekend and floating as assigned
  • Travelers must reside outside the applicable 50-mile radius; a permanent address will be requested during the submission process
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Travel Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy services for adult inpatients across designated hospital units
  • Deliver approximately 36–42 respiratory treatments per 12-hour shift, based on daily patient needs
  • Perform respiratory assessments, treatments, ventilator management, airway care, and arterial blood gas collection and analysis
  • Manage and maintain respiratory therapy equipment, including adult ventilators, BiPAP systems, high-flow oxygen devices, cough-assist equipment, and airway-clearance systems
  • Support patient transports and assist with airway procedures, including intubations
  • Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, nurses, physicians, and the lead respiratory therapist to deliver safe, timely patient care
  • Float to other designated areas or nearby locations as needed to support respiratory therapy department operations
  • Document patient care accurately in EPIC
  • Follow hospital policies, infection-prevention standards, and respiratory therapy best practices
