Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Connecticut
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not being considered
• Recent Epic electronic health record experience required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to work overnight shifts, every other weekend, and scheduled holidays
• Ability to commit to the full travel nursing assignment and meet orientation requirements

Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients with a broad range of general medical conditions
• Complete comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established clinical standards
• Monitor telemetry and overall patient status, recognize changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate care team members
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with hospitalists, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, nursing assistants, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Provide patient and family education to support treatment plans, recovery, and safe transitions of care
• Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and evidence-based medical-surgical nursing practices
